Diez started drawing from an early age. When he reached a certain point in life he began drawing the female form, the likes of Barbarella and Princess Leia being his chosen models, effectively bringing him into the pinup genre without realising it was what he was doing.

A somewhat life changing moment arrived when he came into possession of a Vargas book, something that had a profound effect in his works as the vargas style was something he was already trying to create in his own work.

He studied the works of numerous other artists and mixed styles to achieve some fantastic results. Frank Frazetta, Vallejo, Azpiri, Royo and Sorayama have all influenced his works at some point.

Whether Angelina Jolie appreciates the Tomb raider Image is something I couldn’t say, For my part, I think it is how she should have done the films. Diez creates some beautiful artss, bright and occasionally razor detailed. I don’t get the same feeling from his fantasy works as I do from his more natural Pinup works, but the Marilyns are two of the best Monroe pinups I have seen, while other works seem to carry the erotic to another level despite lacking the full nakedness used by other artists.
